Description
Sticky, slightly sweet, and just spicy enough, these air fryer firecracker chicken meatballs are quick to prepare and perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking spray for the air fryer basket
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, chopped green onions, minced garlic, egg, soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, grated ginger, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until well incorporated.
- Shape the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter (roughly 24–28 meatballs).
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for 3–5 minutes.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and arrange the meatballs in a single layer.
- Cook for 10–12 minutes, shaking or flipping once halfway through. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- For a stickier glaze, brush with extra sweet chili sauce and air fry for an additional minute.
- Serve hot, drizzled with extra sweet chili sauce if desired.
Notes
Don’t overwork the meat mixture to keep the meatballs tender. Ensure uniform sizing for even cooking.
