Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Coat each chicken breast with the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring even coverage.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until chicken is cooked through and coating is golden brown.
- Add marinara sauce over each breast, followed by shredded mozzarella.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5–7 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
Pound chicken for even cooking and pat dry before coating. Refrigerate assembled breaded chicken for up to 24 hours before baking for convenience.
