A delightful dish featuring tender, marinated chicken thighs in warm pita bread, topped with creamy garlic sauce and fresh vegetables.

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon ground paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Pita bread or flatbreads
  • Fresh vegetables (tomatoes, cucumbers, onions)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine olive oil, cumin, paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Coat chicken thighs and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook marinated chicken for 5-7 minutes on each side until thoroughly cooked, then let it rest.
  3. Mix mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt to prepare the garlic sauce.
  4. Slice rested chicken and serve in pita or flatbread with fresh vegetables and garlic sauce.

Notes

Let marinated chicken rest after cooking to retain moisture. Adjust spices to taste and consider adding Greek yogurt for creaminess in the sauce.
