Description

A comforting baked pasta dish with creamy ricotta, marinara, and vegetables, topped with gooey mozzarella and Parmesan.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta (any type)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup cooked vegetables (spinach, broccoli, etc.)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cook the pasta according to the package instructions in salted water until al dente. Drain well and set aside.
  2. Combine the cooked pasta, marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, cooked vegetables, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly until everything is evenly coated.
  3. Transfer the pasta mixture to a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly and pressing slightly to compact it.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella over the pasta, then finish with the grated Parmesan.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  6. Let the casserole rest for 5–10 minutes, garnish with fresh basil if using, and then serve warm.

Notes

For a lighter version, use part-skim cheeses and any gluten-free pasta. This dish is also great for meal prep and freezing.
