Description
A comforting baked pasta dish with creamy ricotta, marinara, and vegetables, topped with gooey mozzarella and Parmesan.
Ingredients
- 8 oz pasta (any type)
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup cooked vegetables (spinach, broccoli, etc.)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cook the pasta according to the package instructions in salted water until al dente. Drain well and set aside.
- Combine the cooked pasta, marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, cooked vegetables, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly until everything is evenly coated.
- Transfer the pasta mixture to a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly and pressing slightly to compact it.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella over the pasta, then finish with the grated Parmesan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let the casserole rest for 5–10 minutes, garnish with fresh basil if using, and then serve warm.
Notes
For a lighter version, use part-skim cheeses and any gluten-free pasta. This dish is also great for meal prep and freezing.
