Description

Delicious creamy garlic chicken thighs with a rich garlic-Parmesan sauce, perfect for busy weeknights or elegant dinners.

Ingredients

  • 8 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs (about 2 lbs)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prep and season the chicken: Pat the chicken thighs completely dry with paper towels and season all over with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Sear the thighs: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place the thighs skin-side down and sear for 6–8 minutes until the skin is golden brown. Flip and cook another 5–6 minutes until cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. Build the base of the sauce: Reduce heat to medium, add butter, and once melted, add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  4. Deglaze and reduce: Pour in chicken broth, scraping up browned bits. Bring to a simmer and reduce for 3–4 minutes.
  5. Make the creamy sauce: Stir in heavy cream and simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened. Reduce heat and stir in Parmesan until melted and smooth.
  6. Return chicken and serve: Place chicken thighs back in the skillet, spoon sauce over them, and simmer a minute to marry flavors. Garnish with parsley.

Notes

For a lighter sauce, consider using half-and-half instead of heavy cream. Serve over mashed potatoes or pasta to soak up the sauce.
