Easy and tender slow-cooked BBQ chicken legs coated in a tangy-sweet sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners and gatherings.
Ingredients
- 8 chicken legs (drumsticks)
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt and pepper until smooth.
- Season the chicken legs with salt and pepper. Arrange them in a single layer in the crockpot.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken, coating thoroughly.
- Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or on high for 3–4 hours until the chicken is tender.
- Optional: Transfer drumsticks to a foil-lined baking sheet and broil for 3–5 minutes to crisp the skin.
- Serve hot.
Notes
For a crisp skin, broil the drumsticks after slow cooking. Reserve some sauce for glazing after cooking.
