Description
Tender and creamy Swedish chicken meatballs served in a rich sauce, perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
- Shape into small 1-inch meatballs.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and brown meatballs on all sides, about 6–8 minutes.
- Remove meatballs and set aside; deglaze the pan with chicken broth.
- Add cream and Worcestershire sauce, bringing to a simmer.
- Return meatballs to the skillet and simmer until cooked through, about 10 minutes.
- Adjust seasoning as necessary and serve over egg noodles, mashed potatoes, or rice.
Notes
For gluten-free, use gluten-free breadcrumbs. For dairy-free, substitute cream with coconut cream and omit Parmesan.
