Tender, juicy chicken thighs coated in a rich, sweet, and buttery sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 2” pieces
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 3 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 4 tbsp cold unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • Fresh parsley for garnish, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the cornstarch, flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Toss in the chicken pieces until well coated.
  2. Heat the avocado oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken in a single layer and cook for about 8 minutes on each side until golden and crispy. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. Add the sliced garlic to the hot skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Lower the heat and add the cold butter, honey, soy sauce, and rice vinegar to the skillet. Stir until well combined and the sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Return the chicken to the skillet and toss it in the sauce until completely coated.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

For the crispiest chicken, ensure your skillet is hot before adding the chicken pieces. Using cold butter in the sauce prevents it from separating.
