Description
A quick honey garlic recipe with a sweet and savory glaze on tender, pan-seared chicken thighs, perfect for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
- 6 chicken thighs (bone-in or boneless)
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium recommended)
- 2–3 cloves minced garlic
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1–2 tbsp vegetable oil
Instructions
- Whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, a pinch of salt, and black pepper in a medium bowl. Set aside.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high and add the vegetable oil.
- Pat the chicken thighs dry and season both sides with salt and pepper. Place them skin-side down in the skillet without crowding.
- Cook the thighs 5–7 minutes per side, until well browned.
- Pour the honey-garlic mixture over the chicken and reduce heat to medium. Let the sauce simmer gently.
- Baste the thighs with the glaze every couple of minutes. Continue cooking 5–10 more minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches at least 165°F (74°C).
- Remove from heat when the sauce has reduced and thickened to a glossy glaze.
- Let the chicken rest 3–5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve with steamed rice and simple sides like stir-fried green beans or roasted broccoli. Reheat gently to preserve sauce texture.
