Description

Tender chicken marinated and seared, finished with a hot honey glaze and crumbled feta for a sweet-savory dish that’s quick and special.

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces chicken thighs or breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley or mint, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest or juice

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken: In a bowl whisk olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Toss the chicken to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add a drizzle of oil. When shimmering, add the chicken.
  3. Sear the chicken: Cook 5–7 minutes per side for thighs or 4–6 minutes for breasts until cooked through. Remove to a plate and tent with foil to rest.
  4. Make the hot honey sauce: In the same skillet, lower to medium-low, add butter and minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant. Stir in honey, chili flakes, and apple cider vinegar. Let bubble for 2–3 minutes until thickened.
  5. Finish: Return chicken to the pan and spoon sauce over each piece. Transfer to a serving plate.
  6. Top with crumbled feta, sprinkle herbs, and lemon zest. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a creamier finish, stir a spoonful of Greek yogurt into the feta when plating. Adjust spice level by reducing chili flakes.
