Ingredients
- 2 lbs chicken pieces
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Soak the chicken pieces in buttermilk for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
- Whisk together flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a separate bowl.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat until bubbling (about 350°F).
- Remove chicken from buttermilk, allow excess to drip off, and dredge in the flour mixture.
- Fry chicken in hot oil for about 15-20 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
- Drain chicken on paper towels to remove excess oil before serving.
Notes
Ensure leftovers are stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator; consume within 3-4 days. To reheat, bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 15-20 minutes.
