Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs chicken pieces
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Soak the chicken pieces in buttermilk for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
  2. Whisk together flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a separate bowl.
  3. Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat until bubbling (about 350°F).
  4. Remove chicken from buttermilk, allow excess to drip off, and dredge in the flour mixture.
  5. Fry chicken in hot oil for about 15-20 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
  6. Drain chicken on paper towels to remove excess oil before serving.

Notes

Ensure leftovers are stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator; consume within 3-4 days. To reheat, bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 15-20 minutes.
